The Trench Coat.

I was dabbling in my Stylehive, and saw some trench coats. Then I saw some more. Then I couldn't stop hiving them. Ruffles. Ruffles on low hems. Puffy shoulder pull overs. Black, khaki, bows. Just watch this little slide show aka widget of my favorite trench coats.

A Beauty : Onyx Flower Ring from South Street Designs

black onyx ring puffina on etsyLove the Stylhive/Etsy combo. There is no official partnership there, it's just that there are so many cute things in Etsy, that they get Stylehived all the time. Like this new black onyx flower ring from Puffluna at South Street Designs. Its clear, greenish jade sister was hived by bunches of people, and after I hived it, I went to buy it, but no...sold out (but she has more stuff). I have an onyx ring from years past, but it is currently in a tangle with a gold baby necklace of mine, so I broadened my onyx ring horizons and got this, which is just perfect and looks exactly as it does in the picture. She custom made it to my ring size, and voila. Fit perfectly.

StyleHive Shoe Face-Off with Widgets

Inspired by Danielle's little revenge on me for showing these Camper boots, and fueled by my white wine induced enthusiasm during a Patty Griffin concert last night in Central Park, I've created a new game for us to torture ourselves with our favorite shoes that we're not buying - yet.

Here's mine:

Here's how it will work:
1. We will go into StyleHive and create accounts (if you haven't already)
2. Drag the little 'bookmarklet' into our toolbars, and start hiving our favorite shoes.
3. We will tag them "mista shoe faves" to be sure we're widgetting just the shoes we want (b/c if you use "shoes" then you'll get all the shoes you tagged shoes...make sense?)
4. Then click on My Tools and grab the widget for them so that they can all display on this post. You'll email me the code for the widget (copy and paste it into the email), and I'll post it here with a link back to your blog/website if you've got one. I hope people will play! It's a nice way to unwind between computer projects...

Cupcakes from my Dream Last Night

No joke - my dreams were so visual last night. I saw where my Mista friend lived in Canada, - it was a cool log cabin built into rocks with a back porch that not only butted into a cool, dark, swollen ocean, but the ocean came onto the porch. I remember thinking how pretty it looked, but how cold it would be to stand ankle deep in the cold ocean. And their bedroom was outside, a king size bed, with a 4-poster canopy around it to keep them warm at night, because as my friend said, it did get cold. !?!

The next section of my dream was all about cupcakes. My grandfather was carrying a cookie sheet of bright vanilla and dark chocolate cupcakes to the car, and they looked so good. Then, in my real life this afternoon, in StyleHive again, I saw an exact picture of them! Here they are from The Cupcake Royal Website, talking about how cupcakes are all the rage for weddings:

Do they overnight??

A Pink Stove

Yes, a pink stove. It's $4,500, but it's pink, and it's functional. From Northstar Retro Range. Found it while I was hiving in my StyleHive.

Fascinated with StyleHive

I've taken the dive into StyleHive. Whee! Between StyleHive and StumbleUpon, why, I don't know when I'll ever work! But it's fun finding things and sharing them with the world. So I put together a little StyleHive slide show of some Camper shoes I like. I couldn't get them right from Camper b/c of how the Camper site is built, so I had to go to Zappos and Amazon.

And see how Camper is wearing the boots I liked before. With socks. Click on this link, but I don't know how long this runway walk will be on here:
