DollyWink Liquid Eyeliner + Kate Brown Collection BR1 FOTD

My new eye liner love ~ Dollywink Liquid Liner

IMG_0392

There are no words to describe how much  I love my Dollywink liquid eyeliner right now. The tip is very thin yet sturdy and the color is a nice deep black, not at all inky like some drugstore brands and it applies like a dream. If you are semi monolid like me and need a very accurate and sharp eyeliner to bring out your eye shape, DW eyeliner is really amazing. WOW.  Plus it doesn’t hurt that the eyeliner and packaging is mega cute!

A simple and really fast look that I did using Dollywink liquid liner and kate brown collection BR1.My eyeliner strokes are never this fine but the fine tip of DW makes it so easy. Sharp lines are very easy to draw now! Smile

Hmm.. the KATE brown collection BR1 actually showed up well in my microshots. I’m using fairy drops mascara btw

SIGVARIS to supply Active Therapy Socks to NBA team

SIGVARIS, the global leader of graduated compression garments and ardent advocate for DVT prevention, will supply NETS Basketball with socks from their Active Therapy line for training, recovery and travel.

A growing trend among competitive athletes and weekend warriors, professional sports athletes are using compression socks during and after performance events to improve their results. When a sportsperson slips on a SIGVARIS Active Therapy sock, he or she is benefiting from the science behind “true graduated compression” – compression that is strongest at the ankle and gradually diminishes as it goes up the leg.

“True graduated compression” helps fight the force of gravity and circulate blood back to the heart and lungs more efficiently. When blood is properly circulated, it provides much-needed oxygen and nutrients to tired muscles that have been, or are being, deprived during a workout. In addition to improved circulation, wearing compression during and after strenuous exercise or competition may help flush out lactic acid and provide symptomatic relief of delayed onset leg muscle soreness.

Puma unveils new football team kit

Sportlifestyle company, PUMA, and the National Chilean Football, PUMA Golf Team debuted Chiles new team kit, PUMA Boots during last nights friendly match against Uruguay at Estadio Monumental in Santiago. The Chilean team got off to a flying start in their new strip beating their South American rivals Uruguay 2-0 thanks to goals either side of the break from Alexis Sanchez (39) and Arturo Vidal (74). The team will wear these kits, popularly referred to as La Roja, during the 2010-2011 season, including during the COPA America tournament taking place next July in Argentina.

The new kit is part of the PUMA PowerCat Collection, which is inspired by raw football and a players primal instinct of fight versus flight. The jersey is designed for each player to maximize his fight instinct through innovative design and an empowering feel.

The new Chile jersey was constructed using 3D Motion Analysis, a scientific technique that captures and quantifies human movement. This movement data is incorporated into the design of the jersey to ensure each player uses minimal force and energy with every upper body movement. The collar and sleeves feature power cutlines, giving the jersey a striking look emphasizing the strength of the chest and arms that stands out when combined with the furious Chilean red. The back of the collar also features Chiles national flag as well as the embroidery la roja de todos, underlining the connection of the team with the people of Chile.

Recent Hauls–Canmake, Rowenta Flat Iron Hair,Loreal Open Eyes Palette

The past week has been pretty tough. A sick hubby and a little baby equals all work and no play for me. I missed blogging a lot and wanted to share my beauty buys with you guys. These were accumulated over the past month and I just haven’t had the time to blog about it.

LOREAL OPEN EYES PALETTE COBALTIMG_0165

IMG_0168

I like that what you see is what you get. I’ve been re discovering Loreal ever since my pregnancy and now I’ve fallen in love with their eye shadows too. What caught my eye when I saw this palette was the highlight shade. It isn’t a stark white shimmer color but rather it blends beautifully with my skin color and I like how the shadows are so easy to apply.Packaging rocks too.

** I did a review on the Loreal Super Liner when I first bought it. I didn’t like it at all the first week because the formula was so thin but after a weeks worth of testing, the formula thickened and it’s been great. Only issue is I wish it were waterproof. That would make it perfect!

CANMAKE DUAL SPARKLE COLOR 01 & 05:

I love the shimmer in Canmake dual sparkle color 01 and 05. They make lovely brown bases and apply smoothly. Gotta do a look with these soon!

ROWENTA FLAT IRON:

IMG_0210

IMG_0212

I was eyeing a flat iron online during the black friday sales but unfortunately, the voltage isn’t compatible. Hence, I ended up at Watsons getting this much cheaper hot iron that actually heats up to 230 and curls or straightens pretty well. I like that you can adjust the temperature too. The flat iron brands in Watsons are so limited, whenever are they going to bring in GHD or CHI. Come on, I’m waiting….

Anyways, I’ve got some festive looks  and a giveaway coming up !!

Yahya Stapic opens doors to UAE fashion talent

The winner of The Big Start student entrepreneur competition, an initiative of venture capitalist Al Tamimi Investments (ATI), gets ready to pay his big break forward through his pioneering retail and fashion incubator concept, United Designers.

Set to open in April 2011, United Designers will offer up-and-coming fashion talent in the UAE a platform to showcase and retail their debut collections in a premier storefront location while receiving invaluable business advice on merchandising, pricing and stock control.

This unique retail concept is the brainchild of aspiring fashion entrepreneur and American University of Sharjah graduate Yahya Stapic. Al Tamimi Investments selected him as the winner of the inaugural Big Start competition earlier this year and now Stapic plans to extend that same spirit of entrepreneurship into what he says is a maturing local fashion industry.

“United Designers is as much about discovering emerging fashion talent in the UAE as it is about nurturing and mentoring designers to launch and establish their own fashion brand,” said Stapic of his retail concept.

MAJINJOO prepares for London Fashion Week 2011

Since graduating from London College of Fashion in 2010 with a master’s degree in womenswear, Korea-based Fashion designers Jin Joo Ma has had her graduate collection picked up by many stylists and photographers and has been dubbed “an old meets new clash, culminating in a sophisticated and striking collection.”

Her designs displayed a unique style combining rigid glitter pieces and flowing feminine fabrics to create a modern take on power dressing. She described the influence behind the collection as “Mefale”; the ultimate balance of masculinity and femininity. She also took inspiration from ideas of escapism and self-defense, showing a real connection between her influences and their significance in the creative process.

The widespread coverage attained for her graduate collection from respected online publications such as Susie Bubble and Mirror Error is expected to be repeated as MAJINJOO prepares for London Fashion Week 2011.

heme skincare Review

I was contacted a month ago to do a skincare review for HEME products.

I have never heard of this brand prior to testing and have only come to know of it when I was generously sent 6 HEME products to test out. I gave myself a good month long to test out these products Smile

gdfg

A little background on HEME first:

Heme International Inc. was established in March 2003. They focus on manufacturing skincare products for young Asian men and women around the age of 20 to 35. The name 'Heme' comes from the combination of the words, He & Me, which means the best skin solution for both young females and males.( From http://www.heme.com.sg/ )

* SHE, a very popular Taiwanese girl group is endorsing this brand of skin care which is targeted especially towards a younger market. To be frank, I have always thought that Taiwanese girls have really good skin and I do enjoy made in Taiwan Masks.

DSC_0394

OVERALL IMPRESSIONS:

I like the look, packaging and the masks from the 24hr hydrating rose very much. I think they are actually suited not just for the younger population but also older individuals with oily skin.

The rose scents in the facial creams feel especially soothing for me but some individuals may find it a little too strong for their liking.

The products aren’t cheap but the price of HEME products, especially the masks and 24 hour hydrating white night jelly, reflects the quality. Recommended for individuals with non sensitive skin type and oily skin.

24hr Hydrating Rose Masks Reviews:

24hr Hydrating Ultra-White Lift V-Mask
This unique double V cutting mask comes with a pair of ear loops. It gives skin a fresh radiance and firming benefit by delivering nutrients and antioxidants which hydrates and whitens skin. The ear loops are of high resilience for perfect adherence to face, chin and neck. It also contains Peptides and Collagen, an Ivy extract hat helps to redefined face contours.

How to Use: Use after cleanser. Apply mask over facial contours, positioning openings over eyes and mouth and place the loops over ears. Leave on for 10 minutes before removing mask. Gently massage remaining essence into skin.
Size: 5pcs/28ml

Impressions: I really like this mask and so does my mom. I’ve never used a mask with a neck lift type mask before so this was new to me. Skin feels hydrated and taut after use.

Instant lift & Whitening Eye Mask
This innovative cutting of the eye mask gives one refreshed and radiant looking eyes. It is specially formulated with patented active ingredients to brighten, depuff and hydrate all skin around the eyes. It visibly improves fine lines.
How to Use: Use it after washing your face. Unfold the eye mask and place it over and under the eye area. Leave it on for 10-15mins before removing it. Rinsing off is not necessary.
Size: 5pcs/8ml

Impressions: Of all the masks, this is easily my favorite. I used it after suffering from eye irritation after using Rimmel Liquid Eyeliner and I loved the soothing effect it had. I love the butterfly shaped mask as it’s larger surface area meant my entire eye region was soaking up the goodness. DSC_0402

24hr Hydrating Sparkling White Mask
This contoured 10-minute facial mask slips on luxuriously to bring concentrated hydrating and brightening benefits to one’s skin. It is infused with an intensive treatment that rapidly penetrates skin and helps fight darks pots, freckles and uneven skin tones.
How to Use: Use after cleanser. Apply mask over facial contours, positioning it over openings for eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10 minutes before removing mask. Gently massage remaining essence into skin.
Size: 5pcs/25ml

Impressions: All the mask have some hydrating properties but this mask feels the most moisturizing. However, my skin did not look any whiter or brighter even after several uses.

24hr Hydrating Rose Facial Creams Reviews:

DSC_0406

24hr Hydrating Detox-White Night Jelly
This moisture rich night jelly is specially formulated to instantly hydrate skin. It also improves the skin’s ability to retain water overnight for a more intense treatment and repair. It will let one wake up the next morning with brighter and smoother skin.
How to Use: Apply to face and gently massage in a circular motion in the morning and in the evening.
Size: 50ml

Impressions: This jelly feels so luscious and sinks in immediately. Skin feels light and my skin looks clearer in the morning. No breakout or clogging!

DSC_0410

24hr Hydrating Face Moisturizer
This Aqua-based moisturizer delivers Acetyl hexapeptide-8 and Hydrolyzed collagen skin-essential elements to maintain one’s skin’s moisturizing and brightening qualities. It also helps the skin to maintain its optimum moisture balance. It is absorbed immediately by the skin and keeps it hydrated for 24 hours.
How to Use: Apply onto face and gently massage in a circular motion in the morning and in the evening.
Size: 40ml

Impressions: This moisturizer is a little too rich for me. Post pregnancy, my skin is no longer as dry and I have to be careful as it makes my skin feel oilier. Try this only if you have dry and non sensitive skin.

DSC_0414

24hr Hydrating Instant Recovery Serum
This is an intensive hydrating and brightening serum for dehydrated skin. It helps prevent fine lines, wrinkles and repairs skin imperfections and discolorations while moisturizing the skin at the same time. It also gives the skin a luminous glow.
How to Use: Apply in the morning and in the evening. For the best results, follow up with 24hr Hydrating Face Moisturizer and 24hr Hydrating Detox-White Night Jelly.
Size: 30ml

Impressions: This serum smells very strongly of alcohol and is very potent. Due to it’s anti aging properties, I like to use this for the area around my eyes. Very nourishing and makes my skin feel taut and young.

TISSU PREMIER will take place in June 2011

By abandoning its September dates to re-position itself in June, Tissu Premier, the creative trade fairs that helps accelerate business, confirms its position in the Fast Fashion market.

Eurovet, the fair’s organizer, wants to give Tissu Premier a new dimension since in September it competes with the big concentration of Clothing-Textile industry Fairs.

Tissu Premier thus hopes to be more in synch with today’s faster collection rhythm and the fact that order periods are now spread throughout the year. The date change will offer new business and sourcing perspectives at a key moment for presenting the collections, especially for short-term Winter deliveries.

The goal of the strategy is also to offer growth opportunities to the fair’s increasingly international roster of exhibitors and buyers. Thus Tissu Premier positions itself advantageously as a federating platform for countries in Northern Europe (Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands …).

It will also confirm Tissu Premier’s niche positioning as a short-term Trade Fair that presents mid and long-term fashion options at the same time, since buyers today want to view the collections further in advance.

Roberto Cavalli to celebrate 40th anniversary with Dea

Limited edition sunglasses, called Dea, were created by Marcolin to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the designer Roberto Cavalli.

Inspired by the Occhio degli Dei (Eye of the gods) model, the iconic glasses from the first Roberto Cavalli Eyewear collection by Marcolin, Dea is the perfect symbiosis between continuity, creativity and technology, thanks to a blend of different materials that celebrate the traditional aesthetic language of the brand. Various elements meld together to create a style that drifts between sweetness and sensuality.

The etched mask front, an innovative technique in the world of eyewear, displays the artisan skill from which this commemorative model was born. Elegant, exclusive details frame the front, recalling the fashion designer’s original inspiration: two edges in snakeskin print leather.

The exclusivity of the anniversary model is highlighted by a discreet “Special Edition” label and the sequential numbering of the limited series of only 2,000 pieces distributed worldwide.
